Feeling Irrelevant? My love, You’re Just Getting Started !

It’s my birthday this week - I’m now the oldest I’ve ever been at grand ol’ 51 years!

I’ll be sad to say goodbye to 50 as it’s truly been one of my favourite cycles around the sun so far.

But I’m one of those folks who loves birthdays - mine, other peoples, heck the King’s! And (perhaps unusually) I love getting older too.

this is my fab Aunty Ann in her 90th birthday tiara - QUEEN! #lifegoals!

Why? Because I get soooo much better with age. I’ve now got 51 years of experience, learning and wisdom in the bag, which is a powerful resource for living really well.

Each year -

💛 I get wiser about where to pour my attention and energy

💛 Seems the amount of f&cks I had to give, left the building with estrogen and elastin!

💛 I have a much better sense of what works for me and what doesn’t

💛 I’m much braver about walking away from situations and relationships that just don’t work WITHOUT BLAMING ANYONE - it just happens!

💛 I’ve got a broader skillset to draw from, and that makes my life and work much richer

💛 I (finally) understand to my core, other people’s approval is an absolute deadend to a fulfilling life

💛 I’ve been around the block enough to not worry about ALL THE THINGS, life usually work’s itself out

💛 I’m much less self-preoccupied, and instead fiercely loyal to myself

Reframe Aging, Rediscover Your Power

Those of you who’ve worked up close with me know I pay A LOT of attention to the words we use, because they hold so much power.

And in this case, the latinos do a much better job of describing aging. In Spain, age is seen as a collection of valuable years. They dont ask how old you are, they ask “quantos años”—how many years do you have?

Do you hear that? Your age is an asset, Your years are something to be proud of: to collect. They are a wealth of life experience that our loved ones, workplaces, communities and world so desperately need right now. And I really want to encourage you to view your life through this empowering lens.

If you’ve ever thought, “It’s too late for me,” I want to lovingly call you out on that BS. It’s an excuse my darling. An excuse not to try. An excuse to avoid possible disappointment or failure or perceived safety.

And I get, I’ve been there.

I know that sounds like tough love and it is - because I want you to question where that narrative is coming from (erm, hello patriarchal system) and I really don’t want you to miss out on YOUR LIFE!

Right now, average life expectancy is 85-90 years - that's a whole lot of life left!

You know I’m talking from hard-earned experience, right? I’ve restarted my life multiple times— In my mid-30s, I left at the top of a high-flying corporate career to follow my heart into wellbeing. In my mid-40s, I walked away from a marriage so we could BOTH grow and be more fully ourselves (just not together!). Later, I stepped away from a thriving business to create a simpler, more joyful life. And at the ripe age of 49, I packed up my life and lived nomadic for 18m, travelled the world solo before settling into a sweet, simple and contented life in a new city.

Now I won’t sugar coat this for you at all. Starting again wasn’t easy. With each step toward authenticity, there were MANY moments of self-doubt, fear, and questioning my sanity. But each step brought me closer to a sense of freedom, joy, meaning and a deeper alignment with my true self.

Heck, if we havent got those things - then darling, what's the damn point?!

Embracing the New Season

This time of Midlife isn’t the end—it’s a powerful new beginning. This is a season where we can shift gears, harvesting all our wisdom and experiences, and channelling them into something profoundly meaningful. We get to redefine success, joy, and fulfilment on our terms. YUEEEEES!

Instead of seeing age as a limitation, consider it a launchpad. Every lesson, every challenge, and every success has prepared you for this moment. It’s not about starting over; it’s about building on a rich foundation to create something even more beautiful.

And so my love, I ask you -

❓ How many years do you have?

❓ How many years of wisdom and life experience is in that beautiful mind-body system you’re carrying around this Earth space-ship?

❓ How will you use that glorious wisdom to create this next season of your life?

Your Next Chapter Awaits

Let’s take that old narrative of ‘It’s too late for Me’ and burn it! Yep, go ahead and have yourself a little witching ceremony to celebrate.

You are not too old and it is not too late; it’s your time.
