The Talk You’ve Been Avoiding:

How to Say What You Really Think (and Stay Kind)

You know the talk I mean.
The one looping in your head for weeks (or years!) – or the one you wish you’d handled differently.

Maybe it’s with your partner, mum, boss, or grown-up child. You don’t want drama; you just want to feel heard, calm, and proud of how you showed up.

This free 75-minute session will help you do exactly that — learning to stay kind, clear, and connected while you speak your truth, so you strengthen connection rather than lose it.

We’ll Do It Together

This isn’t a lecture or a “communication skills” class.
It’s a guided practice in staying connected to yourself while you speak — because when you’ve done the inner work, there’s a deep, unmistakable rightness in expressing truth with kindness and clarity.

We’ll explore what that feels like in real time as we work through a real-life example together — a conversation you've been avoiding, or one you wish you’d handled differently — so you’ll leave not just with a plan, but with an embodied sense of how to hold your centre when it matters most.

No over-sharing, no awkward role plays – just real talk, real tools, and a one-page workbook to take away.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Understand what boundaries really are (and aren’t)

  • Get honest about what matters and what hurts

  • Create one clear, kind boundary statement

  • Communicate it without guilt, blame, or blow-up

  • Stay steady – even when others don’t

You’ll Walk Away With:

  • A clear boundary that feels true to you

  • A step-by-step plan for your next (or past) real-life conversation

  • Tools to ground your body and regulate your nervous system

  • A one-page workbook to keep and reuse whenever life gets sticky

Why This Matters

Most of us were taught to keep the peace, not speak our truth.
We learned to over-function, fix, apologise, or avoid — and it’s exhausting.

But by now, we know, staying silent doesn’t work.
It might keep things calm on the surface, but underneath, it quietly eats away at connection – with the other person and, even more painfully, with yourself.

You already know this. The more you hold back, the more resentment builds, and the harder it becomes to feel honest, close, or free to be fully yourself.

This workshop is about doing something different – learning how to stay kind, clear, and connected while you find your words, voice your truth, and hold compassion for yourself and others in the same breath. Because if nothing changes, the distance only grows.

Meet your Facilitator

Hi, I'm Deorah Berryman

For over two decades, I’ve helped women come home to themselves - through yoga, meditation, somatic movement, mentoring and coaching.

I work with women in midlife who’ve done plenty of inner work but still find themselves shrinking, over-giving, or avoiding the hard conversations that matter most.

This workshop blends insight, humour, and practical tools so you can move from understanding and insight into action - from people-pleasing to peaceful power.

Want to take it Deeper?

If this session hits home, I'll be opening up two coaching spots in December for women who are ready to take this work further — to turn clarity into lasting change through 1:1 coaching (4- or 12-week options).

These fill quickly, so if this feels like your next step, grab your seat now and mark your diary.

A Note on Safety

This workshop is for relationships where there’s basic safety and mutual respect.
If you’re in a situation involving emotional or physical abuse, please reach out to Women’s Aid or your local service. You deserve to be safe first.
