Event Details

“My midlife transitions rocked me to my core and helped me see that I wasn't the victim in a crisis but the captain of my own ship. And it was time to make some mid-course corrections in where I was sailing.” Chip Conley, MEA The average person will go through 36 transitions (disruptors) in their adult life, three of which will be “life-quakes”. So truthfully, we’re pretty much always in transition. Most of these happen in midlife (40-60) - hormonal, professional, relational, and even purpose and values. What if we changed our habitual response from “How do I get through this?” to “Who can I become through this?”. What if the Midlife Crisis is actually a Mid-Course Correction? This urban day retreat is dedicated to understanding how to be the artist of your transitions – leveraging your life experience and applying this wisdom toward a meaningful future that reflects who you are now. We’ll practice slow movement - somatics and yoga - to release held tension, and meditation to gain more clarity. And have a blast workshopping ideas, journaling and discussions on the struggles and joys of being human. You’ll leave the day reconnected to and feeling excited about the life-force running through you and inviting you into something new; something fuller. Who’s it for? If you’re feeling suspended in a liminal space - not yet a new self, but no longer the old self – then this is for you! Choosing to participate instead of react or resist to change - coupled with our life wisdom - can help us get clear on what is ready to emerge for this next chapter. Complete beginners to yoga and meditation welcome and encouraged. Day and Time Saturday 28th October 10.30am – 4.30pm * You may also want to join us for the One Day Silent Retreat on the Sunday. With guided meditations and support, we’ll be deepening and distilling this exploration and practice together * Price £59 each (please bring a light lunch). I will always endeavour to support anyone in genuine financial hardship. Please email directly. Limited to a group of twelve people to ensure an intimate, high-touch experience for all — so don’t wait! Location The Granary is a converted barn set on a farm one mile from Junction 13 of M1 and equidistant from Milton Keynes and Bedford. Option to stay overnight at The Granary – £40 for single occupancy and £60 for twin or double occupancy. Please contact The Granary direct to arrange this.
